|Extreme loggers in the rain forest of northern British Columbia battle perilous terrain, weather and even bears in their mission to provide the world with something we all-too easily take for granted. Logging has a fatality rate that tops that of all other jobs performed on land. Heli-logging is a 21st century take on an old business. The transport helicopter drops the crew right into the remote site. After they have climbed and cut-down selected trees, they use a massive two-rotor Chinook helicopter, the only one of its kind in use in Canada, to haul the logs out. 7.5 hours long.
